Allison Baker Appointed VP of Development, President of the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation

Allison Baker has been named vice president of development for Nicklaus Children’s Health System and president of the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation. In this role, Baker leads a team of development professionals who work with donors and supporters to raise funds that support Nicklaus Children’s mission of delivering world class pediatric care to children in South Florida, throughout the region and across the globe.

With more than 25 years of fundraising experience in principal, major gift, and annual giving, Baker joins Nicklaus Children’s from Johns Hopkins University & Medicine where she served as Executive Director of Development for Women’s & Children’s Health. She previously worked at Bon Secours of Maryland Foundation, Baltimore International College, and American Foundation of Urologic Disease where she served in senior leadership roles overseeing development and institutional advancement.  

In her most recent role at Johns Hopkins, Baker helped raise over $300M last year to help drive organizational advancement.

She has extensive experience working with volunteer programs and boards and will work closely with both groups to help increase support for Nicklaus Children’s Health System and Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation. Baker holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from The Pennsylvania State University and is a member of the Children’s Philanthropy Group, a collaboration of leaders from academic children’s medical institutions.

Baker officially joined Nicklaus Children’s Health System and Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation this week.

Nicklaus Children’s 2023 Spread Joy Toy Drive Sets New Record for Toys Gifted to the Hospital’s Patients

Nicklaus Children’s Hospital received donations of more than 30,000 toys for patients on Saturday, December 16, during its annual Spread Joy Toy Drive – one of the largest hauls in the event’s history. Thanks to the generosity of the South Florida community, toys with an estimated value of $607,000, were gifted to the hospital to brighten the days of children receiving care at the 309-bed pediatric specialty hospital.
