Nearly 500 philanthropists and community leaders gathered for the 17th Annual Diamond Ball, where Nicklaus Children’s Hospital launched Forward for Generations — the largest fundraising campaign in its 75-year history — to support world-class care for patients and families.

Nicklaus Children's Hospital Raises Record-Breaking $6.9 Million at Diamond Ball

Nicklaus Children’s Hospital kicked off its biggest fundraising campaign yet, Forward for Generations, at the 17th Annual Diamond Ball where nearly 500 guests raised almost $7M for patients and families. The campaign aims to transform pediatric healthcare with inspiring stories, including that of shark attack survivor Jameson Reeder, along with the grand opening of the new Kenneth C. Griffin Surgical Tower.

Forward for Generations Campaign Launch

The Forward for Generations Campaign creates a brighter, healthy future for kids now – and for generations – by transforming children’s healthcare, breaking medical boundaries, investing in new technologies, and bringing top clinical specialists from around the world to Nicklaus Children’s. The Campaign is chaired by Nicklaus Children’s board members and supporters, Alex and Juliana Krys, who invited guests and the broader community to join them in supporting the Campaign. They generously matched all donations made by event guests during the “Bid from the Heart,” after Jameson and his family shared their story on stage.

Meet Jameson

After being attacked by a bull shark at the age of 10 while snorkeling in the Florida Keys, Jameson’s resilient spirit shines through every day. Thanks to lifesaving and continued care at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital from an expert multidisciplinary team, Jameson is playing baseball like the true champion he is.
