Nicklaus Children’s Young Ambassadors (NCYA), a young professionals group dedicated to raising funds for and awareness of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, raised $107,025 at the 11th annual Fashion Gives Back fundraiser.
The event featured a unique luxury shopping experience, with local and national brands showcasing the latest fashion trends to support Nicklaus Children’s transformational Campaign, Forward for Generations.
Juniper, a four-year-old patient who has proven she can tackle anything, including a cancerous brain tumor, was accompanied by her parents as they shared their Nicklaus Children’s Hospital experience with attendees. “We are living proof of the integrity of Nicklaus Children's Hospital, and from my background and from my family, we want to attest to the quality at all levels, not only the physicians, nurses and staff,” said Juniper’s dad. “Nicklaus Children's Hospital is legit, and we are living proof of that.”
Juniper was experiencing symptoms of headaches, nausea, and vomiting when her mom decided to take her to Jupiter Medical Center, a Nicklaus Children’s partner hospital. After initial scans revealed a brain tumor, Jupiter doctors immediately transferred Juniper to Nicklaus Children’s, where she received emergency brain surgery and was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma. The
Brain Institute and
Helen & Jacob Shaham Cancer & Blood Disorders Institute teams developed a multidisciplinary care plan for Juniper, and, in early October of this year, she rang the celebration bell in completion of chemotherapy treatments.

“Juniper’s experience at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital is an example of the dedication of everyone within our institution,” said Allison W. Baker, President of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation. “We are the place where your child matters most and, with the support of the community at events like Fashion Gives Back, we are able to move children’s healthcare
Forward for Generations.”
Fashion Gives Back has received generous support this year from various sponsors, including title sponsor Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, and additional sponsors, including Coconut Cartel, Lorient Capital, Origin Construction, SoBe Promos, Stream, Moet & Chandon, The Bostany Law Firm PLLC, The Jills Zeder Group, and WhiCo.
All proceeds from the event will benefit Nicklaus Children’s and count toward the hospital’s ambitious
Forward for Generations Campaign to elevate the future of children’s healthcare. Each year following Fashion Gives Back, the NCYA leadership team hosts a Shark Tank event whereby various areas of the hospital present their funding needs, and NCYA votes on how the funds will be allocated. Over the past 12 years, NCYA has helped raise more than $1 million for Nicklaus Children’s to benefit various areas of the hospital including dental health, child life, nutrition programs, physical therapy, and summer camps for patients.
