2023 was a transformational year, starting with a transformational gift by Helen and Jacob Shaham that will enhance pediatric cancer care and research at the hospital's cancer and blood disorders institute, now named the Helen & Jacob Shaham Cancer & Blood Disorders Institute. Additionally, the Saka family donated $1 million to support programs such as the Adaptive Care Program and music therapy. The Batchelor Foundation contributed $250,000 for the Mobile Dental Unit, with additional support bringing the total to $357,000. Lastly, grants totaling $192,000 were issued for cancer research by Hyundai Hope on Wheels and other foundations.

To support parents in navigating the complexities of today’s digital age, in which children can access inappropriate content, experience cyberbullying, suffer mental distress and addiction by using their screen devices, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, the Digital Health Institute for Transformation (DHIT) and other key community partners today announced the formation of The Digital Safety Alliance and launched the Safe+Sound initiative.
