Fashion Gives Back

Thank you for joining us!

It was the perfect evening of fashion, fun and giving back to benefit care for patients like Stephanie!

Thanks for joining our patient, Stephanie, at the 10th Annual Fashion Gives Back!

It was an unforgettable night as Nicklaus Children’s hosted the 10th annual Fashion Gives Back fundraiser in collaboration with Nicklaus Children’s Young Ambassadors! The show featured all the latest fashion trends while raising essential funds to support pediatric surgical care for patients like Stephanie, who stole the show as she walked the runway! Stephanie was born as a “micro-preemie” with underdeveloped lungs and bilateral vocal cord paralysis. Today, she’s a thriving teenager.

Nicklaus Children's serves nearly one million patients with more than 15,000 surgeries every year. The need for pediatric care, particularly complex care, and surgeries is on the rise. Our ER is among the busiest in the nation. We cannot wait. We have to invest in our children’s future now. That’s why Nicklaus Children’s is expanding its ability to meet these needs with the building of the Kenneth C. Griffin Surgical Tower which will open next year. Join us in supporting best-in-class care that will be provided inside the tower, from surgical advancements to support of Nicklaus Children's Institutes - Brain, Cancer and Blood Disorders, Orthopedics, and Heart.

You can make a difference now, or anytime, by donating to support pediatric surgical care at Nicklaus Children's Hospital!

Meet Our Guest Host For Fashion Gives Back: Sheli Muñiz

Sheli Muñiz is an award-winning journalist at NBC 6 since 2015. In recognition of her outstanding coverage of the historic 2019 protests in Puerto Rico, she was awarded an Emmy® Award in 2020. Muñiz discovered her passion for television in the library of her elementary school in Georgia, when she became the morning show anchor and covered hard-hitting news stories like the lunch menu. After more than a decade of experience as a respected journalist, Muñiz has come a long way from the days of lunch menus. Nevertheless, she remains grateful and humbled by her role in telling the stories of her community.

Looking Back at 2022

Last year, Nicklaus Children's Young Ambassadors hosted the 9th annual Fashion Gives Back Fashion Show at Jungle Island in support of the Blood and Marrow Transplant Program, part of the Cancer and Blood Disorders Institute at Nicklaus Children's Hospital. The “Studio 54” themed celebration was emceed by NBC 6 reporter Kelly Blanco, and coming out in full force to support the patients and families of Nicklaus Children's Hospital, attendees wore iconic 70s attire as they danced the night away while helping raise funds in style.

About Fashion Gives Back

Fashion Gives Back is a night of fashion and cocktails where the community comes together to raise funds for the patients of Nicklaus Children's Hospital. Guests can adore this event while enjoying delectable delights and cocktails. The runway fashion show will feature must-have trends of the season. Each year, a patient is honored and asked to walk the runway with the models to remind everyone of our mission to inspire hope and promote lifelong health.

Fashion Gives Back was created in 2012 by Nicklaus Children's Young Ambassadors (NCYA) members Ricky Patel and Wesley Farrell, partners of Farrell, Patel, Jomarron & Lopez. Patel, also founder of its4thekids, and Farrell have worked alongside other NCYA members to bring this annual event to life each year to raise funds and awareness for Nicklaus Children's Hospital.
