Thousands of Toys Donated to Nicklaus Children's Patients During Spread Joy Toy Drive

Published on: 12/28/2018

Being a kid in the hospital is never easy, especially during the holidays. However, this year, an overwhelming number of people contributed to our Spread Joy Toy Drive, making this a record-breaking year for our Nicklaus Children’s Hospital patients.

Thanks to the generosity of so many caring community members, nearly 13,000 toys and gifts were donated to our patients, valued at $314,800, plus volunteers gave nearly 330 hours of their time to make it all happen. Each patient woke up on Christmas morning with a bundle of gifts, tailored to their age group and interests, and enough extra toys were collected to celebrate every patient’s birthday throughout 2019.

While this year’s Spread Joy Toy Drive was a tremendous success, our patients need and depend on the generosity of others all year long, not just during the holiday season. Help spread joy throughout the year by joining Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation’s Monthly Giving Circle. By investing in the health and happiness of children on a monthly basis, you can make an impact on countless lives.

Make a monthly gift that will bring better health to our children, and give you the deep satisfaction in knowing your contribution is making the difference in the life of a child.
