Spirit of Children Donates $82,154 to Nicklaus Children's Childlife Department

Last October, Spirit Halloween and its Spirit of Children program held a fundraising campaign in its Miami-area stores, benefiting the Child Life Department at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. With a special coupon, Halloween shoppers received 10 percent off their total purchase, and an additional 10 percent was given back to our patients.

The fundraising drive culminated in a not-so-spooky Halloween party and costume donation at the hospital, delivering dozens of costumes to children receiving treatment. This January, Spirit of Children dropped off a check for $82,154 raised during the campaign.

Since the partnership between Spirit Halloween and Nicklaus Children’s Hospital began in 2010, Spirit of Children has raised nearly $750,000 in critical funding for the hospital’s Child Life Department. Child Life specialists strive to normalize the hospital environment by providing psychosocial therapeutic support through a family centered care approach. Their goal is to enrich the experience for our patients and their families.

This Spirit of Children program is the heart of Spirit Halloween as a company. Spirit Halloween invests approximately $300k annually in this program that it so strongly believes in and supports to truly make hospitals less scary for kids and their families.
