Philanthropy is Part of Their Family Values

For the Gelbers, giving back is part of their family values. The family of four has supported Nicklaus Children’s Hospital for nearly 10 years, by donating their time and pledging a gift through legacy planning. Gregg first became involved with the hospital as a member of Nicklaus Children’s Young Ambassadors, a group of young professionals which helps fundraise and advocate for patients at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.

When Gregg and his wife, Carolina, became parents, they realized a deeper connection to the hospital’s vision of creating a healthy future for every child. When their firstborn became ill, they witnessed first-hand the top-notch care that Nicklaus Children’s provides. “We marveled at the world-class facility that happens to be in our own backyard. After our ER visit, it felt natural to give back to the place that gave so much to our family,” said Gregg.

Today, Gregg and Carolina are Diamond Society members at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation. Gregg, who works in the financial industry, understands the value of a planned gift through an asset like life insurance. “Philanthropy is a cornerstone of our family and the foundation provides a unique opportunity for charitable giving when you consider the everlasting ripples of each success story. As native Miami residents, it gives us great pride to contribute to such an invaluable service to our community at large,” he added. They chose to designate their gift to support advancements in cancer care at Nicklaus Children’s in memory of Gregg's mother.

It is never too early to explore a future for your family and the causes you care about!
