Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation has appointed Salo Grosfeld, Dr. Luxme Hariharan, and Michelle McKenna to its
Board of Directors, joining a group of well-respected, accomplished leaders in our community who are strong advocates for children and health.

Salo Grosfeld, Dr. Luxme Hariharan and Michelle McKenna each bring unique, diverse backgrounds and interests to the board, and they are strong advocates for children and health in our community,” said Michelle Boggs, President of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation. “We are grateful they are joining us to raise essential philanthropic support of Nicklaus Children’s for years to come.”
Salo Grosfeld has been president of J.R. United Industries since graduating from the University of Miami in 1982. Originally founded by his father in 1967, Salo has been in the sheet and towel business all his life, leading J.R. United Industries at its peak value as a $150 million company. Salo also serves on the boards of Fuente Latina, The Beach People and the Mourning Family Foundation.
Dr. Luxme Hariharan is a pediatric ophthalmologist and global health expert within the Division of Ophthalmology at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. As an accomplished global researcher and child health advocate, Hariharan has a passion for international health policy that is deeply rooted in her own background. She most recently worked at the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland to help control and prevent avoidable blindness worldwide. She has effectively implemented and scaled childhood blindness prevention programs and policies in India, Mexico, South Africa, Argentina, and Niger in collaboration with multiple stakeholders including governments, non-profits, private sector and academia. Her life’s mission is to make sure that every child no matter where they are born has the opportunity to develop his or her full visual potential and beyond.
Michelle McKenna is Chief Information Officer of the National Football League who is responsible for the NFL's technology strategy, shared service delivery and management of the league's technology activities including game day. She has been at the league since 2012 and is the executive sponsor of the league's WIN – Women's Interactive Network, and was recently awarded a Game Changer Award by Sports Business Journal. In 2013 Forty Over Forty – Women to Watch named her as one of the top 40 women in business.
