Nicklaus Children's Hospital patients and their families celebrated the longest standing prom for a children’s hospital in South Florida, the 10th Annual Carlin Family Prom, on Saturday, April 12th at the Coral Gables Hyatt Regency.

The Enchanted Forest-themed event included a full prom experience of dress and suit shopping at Macy’s stores throughout South Florida prior to the event and hair and make-up sessions ahead of the magical night. Filled with various entertainment activations for everyone, patients enjoyed a photo booth, an accessories wall, LANFest video games, as well as food and music by a local line up of Djs through the contributions of DJ Affect. Patients were able to show their dj’ing skills and create their own flower bouquet as part of an activation by Passion Growers. This year’s special guest was Pegasus, The Therapy Horse by Alexandra Ramos.

Parents also enjoyed a special night of their own at a reception where they could celebrate this moment for their children and watch the festivities via livestream. A new highlight this year was a Bouquet Building Station that allowed parents to create floral arrangements and enjoy a hands-on experience.

The Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Carlin Family Prom is made possible thanks to the generosity of Adam and Chanin Carlin.

"At Nicklaus Children’s, we pride ourselves on not only saving lives, but in preserving childhoods,” said Allison Baker, President of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation and SVP of Development, Nicklaus Children’s Health System. "Through their generosity and vision over the past decade, the Carlin Family has impacted the lives and childhoods of thousands of teens by creating a magical evening, in a safe and comforting environment, for so many who may not have otherwise experienced the magic of Prom."

Nicklaus Children's Hospital has established the longest-standing prom event within South Florida. The Carlin family's vision and philanthropic efforts, since 2014, have offered young patients the full prom experience a special evening that their medical conditions might otherwise prevent. This annual event has encouraged local sponsors and vendors to embrace the Carlin family vision and contribute to an unforgettable prom night.

This event is made possible through the sponsorship of the Carlin Family and the support of 4Sound Group, DJ Affect, Apollon Wealth Management, Books for You Miami, Hyatt Regency Coral Gables, Nest of Love Foundation, Pinned by Jovie, Prosel, Passion Growers, The Therapy Horse by Alexandra Ramos, The Therapy Dogs by Alexandra Ramos, and WOW MKTG.
