It was an exciting day at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital thanks to Together For The Children Campaign Ambassador Raul De Molina, who invited a very special guest to tour the facilities and visit the patients. Disney Channel actress, Sofia Carson, one of the stars in the movie “Descendants,” was visiting her hometown Miami, and De Molina who wanted to share his passion for the hospital and invited her to visit to learn more about the cause.
Carson took a tour around the hospital, visiting the Emergency Department and Telehealth Center. She learned a little bit about patient care in 3South (neurology/neurosurgery), where she visited some inpatient rooms and interacted with the children, leaving them signed DVD copies of her upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie, “Adventures in Babysitting.” More excited patients anxiously awaited her arrival at her next stop, the Main Playroom on the third floor. They posed for photos, took selfies with her and included her in some playroom activities. To conclude the tour, Carson visited the Michael Fux Family Center where she sat down for an exclusive preview of “Adventures in Babysitting” with patients.
Having grown up in Miami, Carson was already familiar with the hospital, but was very impressed with how much it’s changed and very grateful to her friend De Molina for inviting her. Thank you Raul and Sofia for stopping by and bringing smiles to our patients’ day!
