About Nico's Promise

When a child dies or faces a life-altering illness, the family becomes the patient. Nico's Promise: A Journey of Hope and Healing is a dedicated bereavement program at Nicklaus Children's Hospital that focuses on continuity of care from a family-centered perspective. We help fortify these families, leading them to discover their inner strength and honor their children by living once again productive, meaningful and even joy-filled lives. Over the past seven years, Nico’s Promise has raised over $1 million for bereavement support and served 1,400 families who have suffered the loss of a child, from providing countless group sessions to coordinating annual celebrations of life.
